Salinas La Mata and Torrevieja
The salt lakes of La Mata and Torrevieja are next to the domain. In addition to the effect of weightlessness (you do not succeed in going under), the medicinal effect in heart patients, rheumatism, skin diseases and asthma should not be underestimated. Moreover, the protected nature reserve is ideal for sports or walking.

Food and drink
If you walk out of the domain to the left and then turn right behind the corner, you will find 2 small bars. For the enthusiasts : El Capitan offers Stella on tap. About hotel Doña Monse is a small walking path that leads to a nice bar: Bar Piscina Lago Jardin 1, good food and drinks and friendly service at very reasonable prices.
A 5 minute walk, just past the hotel Doña Monse, is a large Mercadona with free parking. There are reusable shopping bags and a caddy availablein our bungalow to go to the supermarket on foot.
If you walk further and turn right at the next roundabout (about a 15 minute walk), you will find all kinds of bars, restaurants and the sports squares of Los Balcones.
On the other side of the domain is a large new commercial center with shops.
If you walk or drive in the other direction towards La Zenia, there are also all kinds of nice restaurants and commercial centers (Villa Park) about 1.7 km from Laguna Beach. Be sure to check out our Facebook page for great tips.

Torrevieja city ​
Torrevieja town is about 5 km from Laguna Beach. There is a direct bus (bus E) or you can easily take the car or even walk if you are a bit sporty. Torrevieja is a bustling town with many bars, restaurants and several marinas. Every Friday there is a large market, the largest in Spain with more than 1200 stalls, from 9am to 2pm next to the Aquapolis water park at Av. Delfina Viudes, 1, 03183 Torrevieja.
On the Paseo Marítimo de la Libertad there is a daily large souvenir market with a funfair during the season (currently not due to work). There is a paid car park nearby .
At the Plaza de los Halcones you will find 'Los Angeles Torrevieja' where there is a market on Mondays and often live performances are given. Click here for the website.

Beaches ​
There are several beaches near Laguna Beach. The closest beach is Playa Torrevieja at 3 km approximately. There is a direct bus.
You can easily find other beaches via this site.
There is one of every type of beach, ranging from sandy beaches with shallow water such as Playa del Cura to the rocky mix of Playa de los Locos. The most famous beaches such as Playa de la Mata, Playa Flamenca, La Zenia and Cabo Roig are known for their white sands and crystal clear water. Other beautiful sandy beaches can be found in Guardamar, Gran Alacant and Santa Pola.

Golf
Torrevieja is a popular golf destination . There are 12 golf clubs near Torrevieja. The most famous golf resort near Torrevieja is Las Colinas Golf & Country Club. The best golf courses in Torrevieja are Las Colinas Golf & Country Club, Lo Romero Golf, Golf La Finca and Golf Las Ramblas. All mentioned golf courses are located within a radius of 16 km from Torrevieja. More information can be found on this website.

Shopping
Besides the smaller and local shops, near Laguna Beach there are 2 large open air shopping centers that are worth visiting. They both offer free parking.

Cycling on the Vias verdes
Recreational cycling with or without a guide, organized tours, mountain biking and even cycling is possible on the Costa Blanca. (Electric) bicycles can be hired from local bike shops or brought in yourself and cycling maps are available at most tourist information offices.

The Vías Verdes (green roads) used to be railway lines that ran right through Spain. There are already more than 90 Vías Verde with approximately 1900 km of walking and cycling routes that take you to the most hidden places in the interior. No motorized traffic is allowed.
These green roads can be used by everyone: children, the elderly and even people with limited mobility. The Vías Verdes are a registered trademark of the FFE (La Fundación de los Ferrocarriles Españoles). In the province of Alicante there are four green roads: Alcoy-Agost, Agost-Puerto del Maigmó, Vía Verde de las Salinas (Torrevieja) and Xixarra 2 (Alicante-Biar) and have a length of about 7 to about 20 km. A very special way to explore this area with mountains and valleys, bridges and viaducts or tunnels that are more than a hundred years old. Click here for the website.

The island of Tabarca
If you are up for a crazy boat trip, then you should visit the (pirate) island of Tabarca.
The Puerto Deportivo Marina Internacional harbor has space for small boats and yachts. There you can book an excursion to the nearby island of Tabarca. Small tip: the glass bottom catamaran is highly recommended. The island is accessible from Torrevieja (1h by boat) or Santa Paola (20min by boat). Don't forget your snorkel!

Ruta de la Tapa
Twice a year the Ruta de la Tapa takes place in Torrevieja.
Normally this takes place in April and/or November, via the tourist kiosks you can request a brochure where the participating bars and restaurants are located.
During this period you can enjoy homemade tapas and a drink (prices vary from year to year). There are over 40 participating merchants offering a wide selection of over 180 different tapas.

El Palmeral - Elche
A walk in the palm grove of Elche should not be missed during your holiday.
Moreover, Elche is a very beautiful city. The botanical gardens of Huerto del Cura and Parque Municipal also charm many visitors. A location worth visiting, about 40 km from Laguna Beach.

Las Fuentes del Algar ​
Fancy a day trip? About 130 km from Laguna Beach you will find the waterfalls of Algar. The Algar River flows into the Mediterranean Sea at Altea. On the way there, the river passes the town of Callosa d'en Sarria, about 15km from Benidorm and about the same distance from Altea. It is there that the Algar River flows down in beautiful waterfalls that cascading along the rocks form natural pools. Besides the waterfalls, there is much more to see in the nature reserve. Cuevas del Rodeo (Rojales cave houses)
At 18 km from Laguna Beach you will find the cave houses of Rojales .
The cave dwellings were carved out of the rock in the 18th century and now serve as artists' studios. You can visit them every day, but on the first Sunday of every month there is an arts and crafts event held from 11 a.m. to showcase the artists' artworks and creations, where you can also buy handmade products (Rodearte). On your walk you will also come across the shell house (casa de las conchas).

Lemon tree market Guardamar
On Sunday morning it is worth taking your car and driving 17 km to the lemon tree market of Guardamar. The market owes its name to the fact that it is completely surrounded by lemon groves so the road to it is also a spectacle in itself. The market has about 500 stalls where you can find food and drinks as well as clothing, souvenirs,....
